![]() A floor cloth is a painted rug, and since colonial times they have been part of the American folk art tradition. Originally made from canvas sails, floor cloths were painted, varnished, and often covered early American floors. The tradition continues with FloraCloths - a durable, easy to clean, allergen-free, and fade resistant floor covering alternative - constructed from the finest materials now available. Artist Lynette Miller has perfected her technique of contact printing real leaves from the WNC mountains and incorporating them into each design. The result is a finely crafted, one of a kind work of art that brings a bit of nature into your home or vacation retreat. They can be custom designed to any color scheme or size requirements. "Although my professional background is in photography and printmaking, I've found that painting FloraCloths is not so much a departure from the work and ideas I have been exploring over the past 20 years photographically as it is a functional application of those ideas."
